Blooming/Roughing Mills
At Sajjanson Engineers, we pride ourselves on crafting high-quality blooming mills and reversing roughing mills designed to meet the rigorous demands of the steel industry. These mills play a critical role in reducing the cross-sectional area of raw materials, preparing them for further processing in finishing mills.
Blooming Mills
Purpose: Reduce cast ingots into blooms or billets.
Design:
2-high reversing mills with work rolls ranging from 30" to 50" in diameter.
Heavy-duty construction ensures efficiency and uniformity in the reduction process.
Reversing Roughing Mills
Purpose: Reduce cast or rolled billets before entering finishing mills.
Design:
Work rolls sized between 16" and 36" in diameter for high precision and durability.
Suitable for pre-shaping billets for structural, automotive, and other industrial applications.
Operational Highlights
Bidirectional Roll Operation:
Rolls rotate in one direction to reduce the workpiece height.
Upon clearing the mill, rolls reverse direction for the next pass.
Workpiece Manipulation:
Between passes, the workpiece is rotated 90 degrees using manipulators for uniform shaping and reduction.
End Product:
Smaller, longer billets ready for further processing.
